NAJC-Qc AGM Sep 20, 2:00-4:30

by Anne Koizumi Join us for the NAJC-QC Annual General Meeting on Sunday, September 20, from 2:00–4:30 p.m. at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre of Montreal (JCCCM), 8155 Rue Rousselot, Montréal, QC H2E 1Z7, in the main event room.

Whether you’re already involved with NAJC-QC or are simply curious about getting to know Montreal’s Japanese Canadian community, we’d love to see you there. The AGM is a chance to learn more about what we’ve been working on, meet current members and volunteers, renew or purchase your NAJC-QC membership ($10), and find out how you can get involved in the year ahead.

Membership gives you access to our community-based activities and workshops, which have included gardening, sashiko, Japanese calligraphy, wagashi-making with KotoAn, and other cultural and social events. 

You can also volunteer at upcoming activities, share ideas for future programming, or even consider joining the board and helping us continue to build a welcoming and connected Japanese Canadian community in Quebec.

After the meeting, board member Carol Yamabe Breitkreutz will lead a fun and relaxed sashiko card-making workshop. Participants can create a handmade birthday, thank-you, or Christmas card using sashiko-inspired stitching. All materials will be provided, and no previous experience is necessary.

Come for the meeting, stay for the sashiko, and spend an afternoon connecting with community.
